Colonies with variable growth forms like encrusting
sheets, upright leaves or plates with irregular projections and flat plates.
To be confused with
Other Agaricia
or Leptoceris species. The latter group has light depressions
inbetween the ridges.
Characteristics
Size: Up to 1 m
in diameter.
Colour: Cream
to different shades of brown.
Shape: Various
forms: Encrusting sheets, upright leaves
or plates with irregular projections and flat plates. Ridge tops are pointed.
Habitat environment and ecology
Encrusting or hemispherical form mostly in shallow
patch or back reefs areas. Other forms more common on outer reef slopes.
Distribution range
BES-eilanden: Bonaire, St. Eustatius
