Summary
Coral. Hemispherical heads that may be flattened, with ridges
formed by conspicuous vertical plates.
To be confused with
- Rose coral Manicina
areolata: In that species the
vertical plates in the ridges are less pronounced.
- Butterpint rose coral Meandrina danae: Yellow, brown to greenish elongate corals in areas
of sand, algue or seagrass.
Characteristics
Size: Up to 1m
in diameter.
Colour: Usually
cream, with greenish and brown tints.
Shape: Hemispherical heads that may be flattened, with
ridges formed by conspicuous vertical plates.
Habitat environment and ecology
Inhabit
most reef environments, especially seaward reefs down to 80 m.

De namen van de fotografen zijn niet meer zichtbaar bij de foto's. Voor meerdere foto's die ik uploade was dit een voorwaarde.
