Summary
Massive boulders of maximum 2.5 m in diameter,
especially in deep water it may form plates. Skeleton
of individuals button shaped and relatively large.
Characteristics
Size: Commonly 0,5 meter in diameter, maximum 2.5 meter.
Colour: A wide range colors, light or dark brown, purple . Centers of withdrawn individuals usually have contrasting colors.
Shape: Bolders, domes or plates. Skeleton of individuals button-shaped and relatively large.
Habitat environment and ecology
Most reef environments. Often the predominant coral
between 12 and 30 meters.
