Summary
Saltwater. Spider Crabs. This beautiful little crab is easily recognized
by its triangular body and long, slender, spine like rostrum. The
walking legs and claws are very long and slender.
To be confused with
- Neck Crab Podochela sp.
Characteristics
Size: 2.5 to 5 cm.
Colour: The color of the carapace is whitish or light tan to golden brown with fine dark lines. The claws may have violet tips.
Shape: Very small body with pointed head with two eyes on each side and very long slender legs.
Habitat environment and ecology
Inhabits reefs. The crab moves about gracefully on algae-covered rocks and around reefs. Depth: ranges from 3 m down to 40 m.

BES-eilanden: St. Eustatius.
