mated pairs in search for food.
To be confused with
- Reef Butterflyfish Chaetodon
sedentarius.
- Spotfin Butterflyfish Chaetodon ocellatus.
Characteristics
Size: 8 to 13 cm, max 15 cm
Colour: white body with yellow tinges on the head, and four black bars, one across the head through the eye, two on the side of the body and one at the dorsal fin.
Shape: Deep-bodied and laterally compressed, with a single dorsal fin and a small mouth.
