Yellow Goatfish

Summary
Saltwater fish. Goatfishes. Often seen drifting around the reef in large
schools. At night it becomes a more active feeder, in sandy and grassy
areas near reef, in rearch of food, by poking its barbels into the
sediment.
To be confused with
- Spotted Goatfish Pseudupeneus maculatus
Characteristics
Size: 15 to 30 cm, max 45 cm.
Colour: Body is white with yellow stripe on each side, fins and tail are yellow.
Shape: The snout is short with two long barbels.
Habitat environment and ecology
Inhabits coral reefs. Often seen drifting around the reef in large
schools. At night it becomes a more active feeder in sandy and grassy
areas near reef scouring for food, by poking its barbels into the
sediment.

BES-eilanden: St Eustatius.
