Characteristics
Size: 20 to 25 cm, max 37,5 cm.
Colour: Terminal phase has shades of blue and green. There is a
blue-green stripe from its mouth backwards under its eye and beyond and
another one above the eye. The Juvenile is white with three black
stripes, the middle one goes through the eye.
Shape: Elongated with beaked mouth to scrape at the coral.
Habitat environment and ecology
Inhabits coral reefs, mid-to-shallow reefs. Wanders around by
day, scaping algue from corals and rocks, with beaked mouth.
Distribution range
BES-eilanden: St. Eustatius.
