Summary

Saltwater fish. Squirrelfishes. Drifts in shallow reefs by day in large groups, at night is swims freely over the reef in search of food.

To be confused with

- Squirrelfish Holocentrus adscensionis.

Characteristics

Size: 8 to 13 cm, max 20 cm.
Colour: It shades from reddish-orange above to silvery on the lower sides. The snout is blunt with large eyes. Broad black bar behind its head.
Shape: Deep and compressed body.
Fins etc.: forked caudal fin. The fin has pointed lobes.
