Summary

Saltwater. Zooids up to 2 cm, often shaded with white, red or purple. Siphons rims and internal body parts are typically carmine to purple, although there may be some variations. The zooids are jointed at their bases through stolons.

To be confused with

- Painted Tunicate Clavelina picta.

Characteristics

Size: 1.2 to 1.8 cm, max 2 cm.
Colour: greenish with white rims.
Shape: Zooids  often shaded with greenish, bluish or purple. Siphons rims and internal body parts are typically carmine to purple, although there may be some variations. The zooids are jointed at their bases through stolons.

Habitat environment and ecology

Inhabits coral reefs. Inhabit reefs and walls. Grow in clusters ranging from a few to many individuals.

BES-eilanden: St. Eustatius.
