Saltwaterfish. Scorpionfishes. Found in shallow water, where it sists
motionless amongst rocks, with its colour matched to the background.

- Reef Scorpionfish Scorpaenodes caribbaeus
Characteristics
Size: 18 to 38 cm, max 55 cm.
Colour: Variable in colour, shades of brown and red, with its colour matched to the background, excellels in camouflage.
Shape: Elongated body with big head and mouth, long dorsal spines with
venom.
Habitat environment and ecology
Inhabits coral reefs. Found in shallow water, where it sists motionless
amongst rocks, with its colour matched to the background.

BES-eilanden: St. Eustatius
Specifics
When stung it will not be fatal, but hurt badly. Soak the injury
with warm, not too hot, water.
