Summary

Saltwater. Decorator crabs. Found on reefs. This crab belongs to the decorator crabs, which means that they camouflage themselves using bits of sponge or algae.

To be confused with

- Spongy Decorator Crab Macrocoeloma trispinosum
- Banded Clinging Crab Mithrax cinctimanus.

Characteristics

Size:  Carapace up to 2 cm wide.
Colour: The colour is blue to purple with darker spots. Shape: Crablike body withflat legs.
